My name is Brendan Kimmet and I have been obsessed with movies since before I could walk. Visual aspects always captured my attention, I simply thought they were beautiful and it was only a matter of time before I could comprehend why I thought so. Throughout my entire life, that continues today. Film has always been a medium in which I connect everything with. It is a way of life that demands respect and determination and it is the best storytelling device in my opinion. There is no equal.

I'm an admirer of all genres, but Horror is the world in which I specialize in. From Child's Play to Scream, from The Strangers to Martyrs, the Horror genre has been my outlet in life. I think it's the greatest, but my philosophy for directing overall will always be story, story, story. Ultimately, being a genre director is something that'll continue to challenge me as a filmmaker. I think as a director it is important to remember that story draws people in emotionally, genre draws them in psychologically.
